THE ATTLEBORO MUSEUM, Auction 2001

On November 3^rd, 2001 from 6:00 to 10:00 PM, the Attleboro Museum will auction over $50,000 of art from over 100 New England artists in the Museum’s Ottmar Gallery, located at 86 Park St in downtown Attleboro, MA.

Showcased here are some of the nearly 200 exciting items which are featured in this year’s live and silent auctions – pastels, oils, watercolors, monotypes, etchings, prints, photographs, jewelry, clay, sculpture, furniture, get-aways and more. All will be sold that night to the highest bidder.

Chloe Cumbow's art quilt commemorates the September 11th tragedy.   The event inspired quilt is a long-standing American tradition with commemorative needlework dating back to the time of the Revolutionary War.  Our flag is an expression in needlework.  Every war, many elections and campaigns, the Centennial and Bi-Centennial, have been recorded in American Quilt making.  The media itself, quilt making, is particularly appropriate for the patriotic theme - because quilt making like baseball, jazz and apple pie is uniquely American.

Tickets cost $25. They will be available at the door on the night of the auction, but to insure availability can also be purchased beforehand by visiting the Museum or calling us at 508 222-2644. The price of admission includes a delicious light buffet and a 40 pg. professionally designed catalog.

2 – Visit the Museum during the free ongoing Preview Exhibition or

Call or email and Leave a Bid!

With a simple visit, phone call or email (enter subject heading of "Auction Bid") to the Museum you can create a "Left-bid", your own set of instructions to the auctioneer who will bid in your absence. Simply state your "Opening Bid" and your "Highest Bid" and the auctioneer will work for you to obtain the item you desire at the lowest possible price in your bidding range. If your bidding range exceeds $200, you will be asked to leave a deposit for 50% of your "Highest Bid" through a personal check or a credit card authorization. If you call, ask for Lucille, Gerry or Dore.
